VoIP is a means of making telephone calls (either voice or fax) over the internet.
The technology for VoIP has improved dramatically and it is now possible to connect two or
more locations anywhere in the world using standard internet connections and make free calls between them.
Who Needs The System?
1. Companies which have a high IDD spend between offices in different locations.
2. Companies which have a high IDD spend to clients in a different location.
3. Companies which have a high IDD spend to suppliers in a different location.
If you are paying over US$2,000 per year on calls between two locations the one-off cost of VoIP
will be recouped within a few months.
What Can You Do With The System?
You can make direct calls via the PBX from one location to another simply by dialling an extension
number.
You can dial from any phone (from your office, your home, your mobile or any other phone) in the location
in which you have the first VoIP box to any phone in the location in which you have the second VoIP box and
the long distance segment of the call will always be completely free.
You can also access an external line remotely and make calls from that line as if you were in that
location. For example, you could make calls from Manila to the USA via Hong Kong and you would
pay Hong Kong IDD rates instead of the more expensive Philippine IDD rates.
In addition, the VoIP system can be used to save long distance calls within a country. For example,
you could set up a system in Manila and Cebu and make free calls between these two cities.
Depending on the bandwidth of your internet connection, you can have multiple VoIP channels
enabling many people to make calls at the same time. This is especially useful in larger organisations.
What Do You Need?
Each location (office) must have a good broadband internet connection.
We can help you connect in Hong Kong for as little as HK$508 per month for 6mbs or in Manila
from around P5,000 per month for 256kbs.
We install a special VoIP box and connect it to your internet line either directly or via your
office computer network. We can then either:
1. connect telephone handsets or fax machines directly into the VoIP box, and/or
2. connect external local telephone exchange lines (PSTN) to the VoIP box, and/or
3. connect your PBX extension lines into the VoIP box.
This configuration is replicated in each of two or more locations.
Is It Legal?
Yes it is. As long as you are not selling calls externally, then you are not operating as a Telecoms
company, therefore you do not need any licenses or permits.
What Is The Quality Like?
The quality is usually as good as toll quality and always better than the cheap IDD operators.
Thus it is not only better, but it is free.
How Do We Find Out More?
We would be happy to visit you and make a formal presentation. We will also be able to
demonstrate how the system works and you will be able to test the call quality at this time
by making a test call between Manila.
If you would like to install a system, assuming you already have the necessary infrastructure,
we can set a system up within 7 days. You will be able to try the system out for 7 days
following installation, and if you are not entirely happy we will remove it and give you a full refund.
